I
live at Nanscawen Manor House and invite a few paying guests to share my
home with me. Nanscawen Manor House is a large country house in Cornwall,
two miles from the south coast and about four miles from St Austell
and with the amazing Eden Project just a mere 2 miles further up the
road.
Let me pour you a cup of
coffee and take some freshly baked croissants from the Aga while I tell you a
little about myself. I was born in Tiptree, Essex, England, where, upon leaving
school I went into the family farming business with my father and elder brother.
We grew soft fruit, mainly strawberries, and vegetables until the late 1980s
when I moved down to Nanscawen Manor House.
During the
early days much time was spent renovating the house and gardens before we were
able to open as a business, I enjoy meeting and talking to people and feel
privileged to share the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful old house with
them.
Visitors or not there is always plenty to keep me occupied, either around the
house, garden or swimming pool, all these facilities are available to enhance
your stay with us.
